Ubersuggest Review: Is It Really Special?

Share:

You cannot earn if no one visits your website. Period. People don’t visit your website because they don’t know that your website exists among billions of other websites. If your website doesn’t appear on the 1st page of google (or bing) search, then you are as good as nonexistent to the world. Ranking in Google (or bing) depends a lot on the choice of keywords that you choose. Ubersuggest, a tool by great Neil Patel helps you with that. Today, we will do an in-depth ubersuggest review and find out is it really worth it. Continue reading (and if you are an affiliate marketer, don’t skip the last section).

What Is Ubersuggest?

As mentioned above, ubersuggest is a keyword research tool.  It offers many cool features along with keyword research that not only helps you in creating content but improves the SEO of your website too. We shall see these features in detail later.

It is not really known if the keyword research is wrt google searches or bing searches, however, based on my guess they are with respect to google (after all who really cares for bing that much).

Ubersuggest was acquired by the great marketer Neil Patel and he has been constantly updating it. As on 2nd May 2020, it has been improved considerably and the price has gone up too. But don’t worry, you can use it for FREE too with a few limitations.

Keyword Research Features Of Ubersuggest

Keyword research with ubersuggest is by far the easiest thing to do. The results shown are very easy to understand and laid out in a very clean design. For e.g. if you search for affiliate marketing this is how the results will be shown.

Ubersuggest keyword tool

You get the following information about the keyword that you are researching for

Search Volume: Average number of monthly searches for the keyword in the selected country. You can select a country from the dropdown. The default country is the united states.

SEO Difficulty: It gives the competition level of that particular keyword to rank in organic searches on a scale of 0 to 100. A higher number indicates a higher level of difficulty in organic searches.

Paid Difficulty: It is similar to SEO difficulty but it indicates the competition for paid searches. i.e. for running the ads. Again a higher number indicates a higher level of difficulty in paid searches.

Average CPC: It indicates the average cost per click value for the keyword if you are planning on running paid ads with Google. You can guess the popularity of the keyword-based on this amount and the search volume. If the search volume is high and the average CPC is above $5 then that keyword is valuable and can bring more quality traffic to your website.

Volume Trend: It is the graphical representation of search volume on mobile and desktop laid over a period of the last 12 months.

Click Results: It shows how many people are clicking on organic results, paid results, and how many people are not clicking on any results at all after searching.

Age Range: It gives demographic information such as age and sex of the people who are searching for that particular keyword.

Keyword Ideas: It also suggests the other keywords related to your keyword and gives the details about them in a tabular format.

Content Ideas: It gives the popular content related to the keyword that you are searching for. You may go through those articles/pages to get inspiration for the content that you are going to create. PLEASE DO NOT COPY PASTE THE CONTENT just because it is popular. Google will penalize you.

In short, you get all possible information to create paid and organic search friendly content. You can plan your paid ad campaigns based on the age range, volume, paid difficulty, and average CPC and make most out of your paid ads. You may go through the keyword ideas and content ideas to polish your content further. And the best part, this all is available in the free version of ubersuggest with a few limitations.

The keyword research feature by ubersuggest is at par with the most expensive keyword research tools but at a much cheaper cost.

Other Features Of Ubersuggest

As the name suggests ubersuggest is really uber. It does not only give the keyword research details but offers many other cool features at the same cost.

ubersuggest other tools

Dashboard: You can track the organic monthly traffic, health of your website, keywords, and backlinks for your (or your competitor’s) website.  You can track the daily positions of your ranked keywords, backlinks, and referring domains on the dashboard.

Traffic Analyzer: You can check the monthly traffic of your (or your competitor’s) website. You can also check the keywords that a website is ranking for and the top pages on that particular domain. This is a uber-cool feature by ubersuggest to do the analysis of your competitor’s

SEO Analyzer: This is another cool feature of ubersuggest. You can analyze the SEO of your (or your competitor’s) website. It tells you about the health check of your website, critical errors, warnings, and recommendations to improve your SEO. It also tells you the exact pages with the errors and how to correct those errors. It also gives the site speed on desktop as well as mobile. Really cool isn’t it.

Limitations of Free Plan

Do you know the best part? All of the above features are available in the free plan. You don’t really need to purchase a paid plan if you have just started with your new website or if your website is less than 6 months old. The free plan is more than sufficient. In fact, you don’t even need to create an account. It is recommended to create a free account though.

However, there are a few limitations to the free plan. Let me quickly list them out for you.

  • Keyword search results are not available for all countries.
  • In the dashboard, you can track only one website with 25 keywords instead of a minimum of 500.
  • The keyword ideas show the top few results instead of all.
  • The content ideas show the top few results instead of all.
  • No customer support available.

Customer Support

Ubersuggest offers only email support. No phone or live chat support is offered. Though they haven’t specified any official SLAs, the emails are usually answered within 24 hrs.

Good Things About Ubersuggest

  • It is a perfect tool for keyword research for organic as well as paid searches.
  • With the SEO difficulty, paid difficulty, avg CPC, age ranges it removes the guesswork from your paid ad campaigns and your campaigns can perform better.
  • It is a cloud-based tool. You don’t need to download anything.
  • It is a self intuitive tool. Even a person with below-average IQ should be able to figure it out.
  • It offers the same level of detail as some other paid high-end keyword research tools for a fraction of a cost.

Not So Good Things About Ubersuggest

Ubersuggest is very cool with just a couple of drawbacks.

  • It is not available for other languages than English yet.
  • The stats shown for a keyword may not be in agreement with other keyword research tool results for the same keyword. (But this is true for every keyword research tool).

Ubersuggest Pricing

Ubersuggest is competitively priced compared to the most expensive keyword research tools such as Moz, ahrefs, Jaaxy. It starts at $29 per month in an individual plan and can go as high as $99 per month for the enterprise plan. Each plan differs with the count of results that it offers. Refer the screenshot below for the plan comparison.

Are You An Affiliate Marketer? Read This

If you are an affiliate marketer who is exploring a keyword research tool, then I will recommend Jaaxy over ubersuggest. It offers pretty much all features that ubersuggest offers. Sure it is $20 expensive than ubersuggest but what if I tell you that you can get many tools worth $269+ per month if you pay $49/month and that includes Jaaxy too? Let’s see what all you can get.

  • Jaaxy Tool: $49
  • 10 WordPress websites with extreme speed & hosting: $115 (most charge up to $200) (If you opt-in before 16th March 2020 you will get 50 WordPress websites.i.e. 50 shops possible)
  • Ability To develop websites from 3000 themes & 50k plugins: Priceless but let’s consider $10
  • 120 lessons on Affiliate marketing: Priceless but let’s put a value of $50
  • Live training Every Week: Again priceless but let’s consider the value of $25
  • Content Creator with Plagiarism Checker: $20

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. There are many more features that you get in $49 per month. If you take a yearly plan, then the price is less than $1/per day.

All you have to do is join wealthy affiliate and get Jaaxy FREE along with the above benefits. But no hurry, you read the detailed review of wealthy affiliate and Jaaxy Research tool before deciding.

  1. Just what I was looking for was a review on UberSuggest.

I had heard of it but knew very little but since Neil Patel, as taken over the reins then I guess the product must be good then.

Since reading your review I shall go over and check it out.

    Thanks for sharing

    • Yeah, it has become expensive after Neil Patel has taken over it though 🙂 I was lucky to lock in the previous rates. Thank you for stopping by.
